Speedo won\'t work

Sorry for the abundance of posts from me today I just figured I'd try and liven the board up since it seems a bit dead

Anyway, I finally got around the bolting my speedo gear down. Unfortunetly, that didn't seem to help. I'm still not reading anything on my speedo. All the wires seem to be hooked up correctly. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Obviously something's wrong since it worked before I put my SYE.

Re: Speedo won\'t work

The cam plate, that the speedo cable mounts to at the T case end, needs to be rotated untill you feel good solid contact between, the speedo cable gear, and the speedo drive gear in the tail shaft housing. Wiggle the output shaft and speedo cable to assure good mesh between the gears then back it off just enough to avoid them binding, and then tighten the set screw(bolt). That should take care of it.

Re: Speedo won\'t work

Hey Jeff, thanks for your help on the few questions I posted. As for the speedo, right after I posted this, I went out and tinkered with it. It works fine now I was nervous I put the damn gear on the output shaft the wrong way. Thanks for your help though.

Re: Speedo won\'t work

Jammie, I think Jeff is WAYYYYY off base. The problem is definately those 35" BFG's. Take them off, and return to the stock size for best spedo results.
