OT - collection (revisited)

A couple months back I posted a question about what I could collect for my new baby boy to match the Holiday Barbies I have collected for my girls... Had many good suggestions - thanks again.
I'm just a bit excited about what I ended up with and had to share... even as it is a hot rod (not a Jeep) w/no ground clearance and probably would have a very low 0-60 ET w/tons-o-tire smoke to boot.
Someone mentioned HotWheels Holiday editions (think it was dschwab but can't remember for sure)... I had looked at HotWheels miniture holiday dioramas in the past but they just didn't do it for me. I had no idea at all something like this was available, maybe 2001 is first year - the ad does say "inaugural...holiday collectible". Attached a pic.
I dig stuff like this... I'm just a gadget head like that. I have several of the Franklin Mint 1:24 scale cars I bought 8 or 9 years back. I think this HotWheels car will fit in well (so what if it's a different scale)... too bad I can't keep it myself

Trailisman, maybe you should start keeping some of the momentos of your life ie. pictures, journals, club or trail stickers etc. I know the thought is horrifying, but he may not be a gearhead(I dont understand why everyone isnt), but I will promise you that he will appreciate the fact that he was able to know you a little better.

Re: OT - collection (revisited)

hoehand, don't you think it just a bit unfair to automaticly assume that I don't.

I am OK with the fact that my children may not have the same interests I have - as the children they are now and as the adults they will be. As a parent I need to make sure I have the same interests they have. Quantity, quantity, quantity.... kids don't seem to care about quality of the time I spend with them. My Grandmother, Grandfather and Mother taught me that and my children helped me to remember the lessons I lived as a child.
