My SOA CJ 5, lets see yours...

Here are some shots of my SOA CJ-5 out in the driveway with my new to me tires and rims. Even with 33's it has a wicked stance...

Looks good so far. It also looks like it barely fits into the garage now.

Re: My SOA CJ 5, lets see yours...

looks good I thought long and hard about going SOA on my five But when I went with the T18 the drive line got shorter, then went with the 44 and the drive line got shorter with my new BDS 2 1/2 lift springs I am maxed out and have to limit my axel drop with short shocks and that sucks.....I don't even know if I could go SOA with a high angle driveline...so I'll keep it the way it is until the new TR upgrade RUBBER BAND driveline comes out..=)

WildWilly, I'm sure you've heard the saying "where there's a will, there a way".

Re: My SOA CJ 5, lets see yours...

Smith, The rear 44 is from an '87 Wag. The front is a mutt. I took a Chevy housing and narrowed it to accept Scout inner shafts. This way I have the spring over pad already cast in the center section. Then I used ALL of the Chevy outers....bigger brakes, Warn internal spline hubs and both axles have six bolt pattern. Tires need to grow but are currently 33 x 12.50 bias Swampers. They look pretty narrow in the trailer picture though, huh?
