what axles are under a 80 full size blazer

I can get a early 80s full size blazer pretty cheep ... what did they have under them? Is it a passenger side drop?
Is it a worthy swap? What years are good swap options for a front / rear ford 9" swap?

Re: what axles are under a 80 full size blazer

My 80 K5 Blazer had Gm 12bolt up front and a 10 bolt in back. The most common upgrade for the K5 was a 14 bolt and D60, which should tell you something about the reputation of the 10 bolt and 12 bolt combination.

Hope that helps

Re: what axles are under a 80 full size blazer

When you say ford 9in do you want fullsize axles or something just wider. If you want something just wider find a early bronco 9in, the bolt pattern will be 5 on 51/2. Also there is a lincoln vercase(sp) that is a good width but the bolt pattern is small. If you want a fullsize axle just look for a bronco or pickup 9in they are a dime a dozen.

Can someone please bring me a hammer my 33's just ate my fender again. Damn i need more lift.

Re: what axles are under a 80 full size blazer

Im not sure ... I've heard the 9inch is a good swap but I've also heard some of the years are crap low splin count ect ... I need to start looking for a set of axles to swap under my CJ and I'm just wondering what I should be looking for? What years / what models?

Thanks
