Help \'94 YJ Engine Computer Fried, Options?

I have a 1994 YJ and recently the engine computer had somehow become damaged and unusable. What are my options in Terms of replacement? A new one costs $770 Canadain. I'm somewhat low on cash and would like to save some money. I've heard that there are Refurbished 'puters that you can get from the dealer, But I've called and they said that none are available. If anyone is selling a computer or knows of anywhere to get one at a better price than dealer please let me know! Thanks Very Much!

Fill out your profile.

Check your Local NAPA (or what ever it's called up there in the Great White North). They used to say they could get ANY dometic comptuer (US = Domestic) and replace it for $99 US. All they can do is say no.

Try: <font color=red>Jeep Stuff For Sale</font color=red> $70.00

Re: Help \'94 YJ Engine Computer Fried, Options?

Details: Its at 1994 YJ 4.0L (6 cyl) Auto Trans.
NAPA Auto parts...I havent called there thanks for the suggestions. I was able to locate one for $260 Canadian Refurbished. But if you say $99 US thats even better. I'm relieved that there actual 'non-dealer' options since the dealer price was so steep. I also heard that its relatively simple to install as well am I right about that? Thanks again

Re: Help \'94 YJ Engine Computer Fried, Options?

I've got one from a '91 but the threads in the middle have cracked out of the plastic. I used velcro straps to hold the harness in. But the addition of a jet chip was too much wobbling for the velcro. So I got a used one from a junk yard cant remember where but do a search, cause some told me about it here. The one they sent looks like they smashed it out with a crow bar. But it works, I think it was $100. or so and shipped fedex to me.
