Re: need cj5 advice

Frame rust is the only major thing that I can think of,although I have to think that no one would go thru the expense and trouble of putting a fiberglass body on a rusted frame.Even if there is some thing wrong with this jeep there's more than $500.s worth of parts there so it's pretty hard for you to go wrong on this deal. The only other thing that I can think of is that maybe there is a title problem because five hundred is an awfull good price for what your getting.

GET IT. For 500, it is a steal. That 304 alone could get you more than 500 to the right person. If I were you I would head over there over lunch and pick it up!!

Well with no title problems that jeep would be at home already if it were me.

Re: need cj5 advice

Common problems include the frame cracking just behind the rear spring hanger for the front springs, typically the right side due to engine torque. The frame is twisty so there may be cracks around the rivets and on the front crossmember (the shelf in front of the grill). Otherwise it's like every other jeep as far as problems go, mechanical clutch linkage, etc. Regardless, it's a great deal and if you want rid of that new top I have a derelict 74 that needs one.
