Re: T-18 pricing?

they are worth alot to alot of people, just think Parts Mike, and other places sell the T18 Cj length with dana 20 adapter for $1800, that should tell you something.

I personally would offer a couple hundred for a wore out CJ T18, UNLESS its the only you have ever found, or thnk you will ever find.

its worth whatever its worth to you, you can find parts and make one, or you can buy it alltogether then pay to have it rebuilt.

should be $200-$400 for a good rebuild with all new bearings/synchros at a shop, that assumes no hard parts are bad ( they arent usually in a T18)

Re: T-18 pricing?

$1800, thats just insane!!! I bought a damn good Ford T-18 out of the bone yard for $75, it needed nothing. With AAs adapter ($404.04 when I bought it a couple of years ago from "No Excuses") I have a good heavy duty tranny that will last many years for around $500. (needed new pilot bushing too) The adapter also allowed me to clock the newley swapped in 300. I can crawl now baby!

Re: T-18 pricing?

$1800 is ridiculous. I know a place that sells REBUILT ford cased T-18's with 6.32-1 and ford input, adapted with a machined and surface ground STEEL adapter to 20 transfer starting at $850. That comes with a new mount and pilot bushing. They also modify the Ford cases to bolt directly up to GM bellhousings. If interested E-mail me and I will give you the info. They usually can ship one to the lower 48 for about $75. They also do T-18's to 300, and build a 700r4 to 300 output shaft, plus a turbo 350 to 300 output shaft. They are now prototyping a short shaft conversion for the 300 that uses a chromemoly shaft (4130 if I remember correctly). It is not the monster 35 spline or whatever like the AA unit but it will be considerably stronger than stock. Plus you can convert your long output to a short one. Nickmil.
