I need new spindles for my D44 front axle. My friend needs a new passenger side stub shaft for his Chevy D44. Can we buy a Jeep or Chevy front axle and have all the parts we need for both trucks? They both have the same 6x5.5 stud pattern.
Thank you for the offer, but I need to keep the 6x5.5 pattern to match the rear axle. I can find plenty of axles to get the parts off of, I just want to know if I can get the parts for both trucks off the same axle....
I am not a 100% sure but when I was getting a knuckle from a chevy with 44 front my friend told me to take the outer shaft because it is the same thing as my waggy 44, so I would say yes.
YEs, they are the same(lockouts/spindles/stubs) as long as the hubs are the same. well, I say that, it depends on the year of the chevy as to whether or not the spindle is the same!! The chevy may have the larger back bearing!!
It's as close to a 1ton as it can get and still be a jeep!!! Gotta love it!!
Thanks guys. With any luck I'll get all the parts we need in just one axle. We brought his truck home today. It needs a new radiator and water pump, and the tranny needs a rebuild I think as it has to be manually shifted and even that is difficult. Also, its needs some exhaust work! The headers bolt to a tube that runs to stacks that come up right behind the cab and have flappers on top. No mufflers at all! We'll probably yank the tube between the header and the stacks and bolt/weld some Cherry bombs in it's place.
