I am taking apart my '76 CJ D20 transfer case to do the low range swap of the gears-2.46 low range. I can't get the shift fork off the shift rail. It has a hex head set screw that won't budge. I am snapping wrenches on it. It does not appear to have the safety wire, nor reverse thread. Any ideas-I can't go any further on the swap until this is out. Thanks.
I used a torx socket & ratchet to get mine out. You get more torque then wimpy allen wrenches.
