I thought that I read on this board at one time that somebody installed a TBI from a GM 4.3 onto a 258. I have search til I am blue in the face and I can't find anything. Is this a feezable system for the 258? Who has done this, is there a write up???
Thanks in advance
Shawn
85 CJ7, 258 Nuttered, some rust with $100 paint job
Lots of stuff to do, no money to do it
I think I am still ging to attempt it, if I can get the equivalent of a Howell setup for a lot less money. But I am going to have to get some more info on the computer specifics.

Yes shawn i have done this, and it's not that bad. The number one thing is to get a GM. wiring diagram, nothing else will work as good. check your local library.
Next get yourself a doner vehicle, where no one has been at it with a pair side cutters. and take everthing.
Next get yourself a GM, HEI distributor, something from the 70's with a in line six.
You will have to make yourself a TBI adapter for your manifold, I used a 1" aluminum block.
Also you will have to modifi. the distributer, it's not hard took me about 20 min.
I used a 86 Astro,BUT a pick up is easer MUCH.
My Jeep run's just as good as my daily driver
good luck e mail if you need help.

Also-Try this site it helped me out a lot.
randy's jeep page.
When getting your wiring harness it should come with the computer and the part #1227747 That way you know it's the right one.
Howell engine developments sells a kit, i got mine for $925 with free shipping.
