a friend has an Intrepid and somehow, when checking the oil, the handle broke off the stick and left the stick suck in the tube! yeah, i can't figure out how either. anyway, the stick was one of those with molded plastic 'T' handle on top. the plastic part broke, so when you look into the tube you can see the top of the broken piece about 1/2 inch down. so what are my options? it is smooth, so there is nothing to grab onto with needle nose. it fits snug, so i can't slide something in around the side. options:
1) the only thing i can think of is to try drill a small hole down the center and thread in a screw to pull it out, but if it isn't in real tight, i might just push it in farther. (i thought i could use pliers to crimp the tube a bit, to keep it from sliding down farther)
2) i don't know if you can pull the whole tube out of the block without damaging it. so i guess i would have to replace the tube. if nothing else works, that will be the last resort.
3) something else i thought of was to drain the oil, and try to pressurize the oil pan and blow it out?! don't know if it would work or not...
any suggestions?
thanks all,
shawn
The cup isn't half full or half empty, it's just twice the size it needs to be!!!
