TJ\'s in the army?

I was watching the news today and the showed some clips of in the middle east and it showed a tj i think it was, could have been a yj. But it was an army one. Are my eyes fooling me or something? do they really still use jeeps for the military? peace

Re: TJ\'s in the army?

I doubt it.. I have seen them test rams, and the like though, so maybe its a test mule. or you may have seen a CJ, i believe they were used for a while

In my recent viewing I thought I saw the Egyptian Stretched YJ's being used. I also wonder if some of those aren't Mihandra's?

Re: TJ\'s in the army?

In the Air Force, we use some jeeps as Bobtails. They get used to haul power units and other ACFT AGE Equip.

Re: TJ\'s in the army?

I have seen Isreal have some YJ's as army vehicles. They have metal hardtops though.

Re: TJ\'s in the army?

Hi all,

Yes in the Middle East Jeeps have long been and still are used in the military & police forces for several purposes. What you saw that looked like a TJ is most probably an Israeli YJ. They have a round headlight front over there.
Now if someone cares to tell me how to attach pics ... I can show them to you.
Cheers
