T-18 into a 2.5L YJ -any new info?

I have looked back at Boston Mangler's post and checked out the info there. Just wondering if anybody had any new information about this. A buddy of mine has a 2.5L YJ and deperately wants a better first gear, and this T-18 with the 6.32 first and 17,000 original miles is just kinda sittin' in my garage takin' up space. I thought I'd give it to him if he can make it work.

How 'bout it Kevin(or anyone else) any luck figuring out how to make this work. I'm pretty sure I could do it from what I've seen, but I can't really afford to have his YJ torn down in my driveway while I figure it out(or whether he could be without it while I did). He's fairly mechanical, just not the "Dr. Frankenstein" that I am at grafting vital organs together. I'm sure with a good idea of what he needed to do he could pull it off.

I just got off the phone with Novak, they hope to have an adapter package on the market for this swap in 30-60 days.

Note to self: Gather information BEFORE you post a question.

Novak and AA have been promising 2.5 kits for a while. Don't hold your breath. If it's a 2.5 it is going to need a 4cyl. patterned tranny. That's the truth. No exceptions.

Jeepshop, the trouble with that is there ain't no good 4 banger trannies. AA said "Buy an NV4500 and adapter from us." They don't seem to have any intention of offering anything else. The guy at Novak talked like he had a 2.5L YJ in house and was workin on it.
