Is the fire out?
On our trip out of the Rubicon trail this past weekend, one of our group noticed a bit of smoke about 50 feet from the trail. We stopped to investigate and found that some GOOFBALL (being polite!) had a fire and it was not put out. Besides the fact that there is not supposed to be any open fires at this time. It seems their intentions were good and that they did attemp to put it out, only that the fire burrowed under the six or so inches of decomposed wood and brush to get to a tree that was down. While traveling another 50 to 60 feet to get water from the creek we found all their trash scattered about. What a sad sight to see. Well, needless to say, we did put the fire out, picked up the trash and reported the fire to the fire department on our way out.
If we want to enjoy spending time in the sierra's, we need to use a bit of common scense.
Well, I feel better now.....
