YJ tub on CJ question

I am about to do this swap, is it true that 92-95 YJ's had galvanized sheet metal while 87-91 did not? I don't want my new tub to look like my cj one in a couple years... Any other differences in years in the actual tub itself?

Just getting a galvanized tub won't save you from rust. Mine had minor rust on the floorpans and all around the seams. The seams all around the body had to come out, maybe because when I went to pick it up it was sitting in a big puddle of water.....

Just check it out over and under, you will likely have some rust even on a YJ tub that you will have to deal with.

Re: YJ tub on CJ question

Forgot to add why, Galvanizing is a very thin coating on outside of the steel. Any thing that rubs or scratches of paint and then the galvanizing will then allow it to rust. Bottoms of floorpans collect dust and dirt, put a floormat on top and its like sandpaper. Eventually may cause rust.
