Clocking a Dana 300 (ref 727)
Laying under the jeep last night the idea came up to drill and tap the t-case. Could I bring the 300 to a machine shop and have it drilled and tapped to clock it down another 1" or so? Any reason I can't do that?
I know it will hang down more but from what we looked at last night it should give me plenty of driveshaft clearance. Just a thought. Also Tom Woods driveshaft told me that if I had 2" of clearance around a string from center of yoke to center of yoke they had a driveshaft that would work. I'm also looking at raising the engine based on an earlier post. I didn't realize so many were having problems with this so I'm just sharing what I can.
