Rock Crawling Competition

My application has been accepted to compete in the 1st annual Cal Rocs Competition, to be held at Lake Amador Ca.
Bob Roggy (a regular on the ARCA series)will be the course marshall, and has confirmed that my entry has been accepted, WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!
The event will be held November 17,18 and will be an excelent spectators venue, complete with a Club Swap Meet section(free of charge), a Vendors area, excellent viewing areas, full hook up RV area, camping area with portable toilets, swimming and fishing at Lake Amador, RTI Ramps, Saturday night Dance and BBQ, and possibly a non competitors wheeling area.
If any clubs are interested in the club swap meet, or if anyone is interested in competing(I dont know how the entries are selected, or if it is full??), contact Rich Klien at the Cal Rocs web site. www.calrocs.com
It would be great if some of you guys could make the event and cheer (or even to jeer), our team.
I deffinitely have some work, ahead of me, both behind the wheel and and with wrench in hand. There will be some very tough competition, but I believe the well balanced characteristics of our Jeep, will keep us in the money.

Re: Rock Crawling Competition

Good luck, Jeff!
I hope Kathy is a better spotter than Ron was in Moab
I just went to a pre event meeting for the women's event on tap for this weekend here in Farmington.
38 of the 40 spots were filled and they act pretty orgainized.
The weather is perfect 48* to 88* and partly clowdy in the after noon.
It's gonna be different!!!
Brad is going to be the photog so we'll get some great pics!
... though it's gonna be hard to beat that halter top in the Sniper shot ...

Re: Rock Crawling Competition

The Entry fee is $200. the top 10 finishers will at least get their money back. 100% of the Entry Fees will be returned to the competition. 1st place will be $2500 or better.
Jaffer,
I havent completely decided on a spotter yet. Kathy is a good spotter, but is not physical enough, fast enough, or aggressive enough, she would actually be a very good driver, with a bit more wheel time, but spotting is very physical, and even dangerouse, as Im sure you have seen.
We have nearly all of the bugs worked out of the rig that were plaguing the ballance and performance of the Jeep in Moab, and even at Carnage on the Con. I am putting the Jeep on a seriouse diet, and will be lean and mean in time for this competition. I have also had quite a bit of driving time in the last couple months. I am very confident we will perform well.
Still much work, (fabbing, testing and driving) to do however.

Very cool Jeff. If I make it out to CA over that weekend I'll make it to the competition. Good luck!

Re: Rock Crawling Competition

Thanks guys,
I hope some of you can, make the event.
I talked to Rich Klien last night, and he assured that there will be a trail run for spectators who are interested. he said it would be about a 3 1/2 on a scale of 5 being extreme.
