Re: Pelican Products - Better price ???

I like sony's CD-300 that uses the mini CDR's to record to, except it is $$$ and dosent have a view finder, anyone know other cameras that use the 3" CDRs for memory?

Pelican does make some nice cases...Doug good to know you have connections with them, tried to get to the CBrack.com but it gives me an error? might be me the network here its been strange today

Re: Pelican Products - Better price ???

Agreed, in fact, it's what I prefer to store my camera equipment in (most of the $3,000 worth will fit in the Pelican I have). You can't beat them, they're padded, waterproof, dust proof, shock proof, lockable, and just about indestructible. They can run into a little $$$, but if Doug can get a decent price on them, they a worth every penny. I have another I store my handguns in, safe and sound.

Re: Pelican Products - Better price ???

My ISP was having some trouble today. Perhaps there is a connection. Other than that I have been told that 4.xx Netscape can't read my web site. Got to work on that too, when time allows.

Bout the only thing concected with the Pelican deal on my site is a link to Pelican. The rest basically says, If you are really interested, e-mail me with the details of what you want, and I will work out a price.

Re: Digital camera for taking 4WD shots?

Me and JeepWidow just got an Olympus D360L.

The good: It takes excellent pictures in several resolutions - It comes with an 8 MB SmartMedia card and accepts cards up to 64MByte - It's easy to use

The bad:
The little sucker eats batteries (it uses 4 AA's) faster than I drink beer.

Re: Digital camera for taking 4WD shots?

If you are running Windows 95, make sure you get a camera that is compatible with it. Most of the USB interface cameras I have seen require Windows 98 or newer.

I have a Panasonic PV-SD4090. It's an older model that I've seen for as little as $300. It uses 1.44 floppies and 120MB superdisk floppies and connects to USB port. It is a large camera and uses camcorder type batteries which are expensive to replace, but if you take proper care of them they should last a long time.

It has a 3x optical zoom and can record a 10 second video with audio, it can also record audio with a still pic.

Attempting to post a video sample.

Too big, it was rejected. If anyone is interested, I can try again with a very short clip.

Re: Digital camera for taking 4WD shots?

VERY good point, jerry. I had to upgrade from Win 95 to get the USB in the computer to work. I had forgotten about that. It cost me $70 to upgrade to WIN ME, then I added another 128 Mb of RAM to handle the pictures better ($47). My pentium 233 smokes now.
