has anyone put a TJ rear seat in a CJ/YJ yet?

Has anyone been able to stuf a TJ rear seat into a CJ/YJ? I have seen a few guys put the front seats in but not the rear yet. I know its like 2 inches too wide but i am sure someone has pulled it off. Anyone??? Thanks- Tim

why??? it too f*ckin wide.. for a cj yj.. so why even try.. just get a fold n tumble from a yj.. and leave it alone.. a back seat is not worth that much work..

I've got a TJ rear seat I'm gonna use it in the bed of the M-715. I tried it in the CJ it was actually more like 3"-4" too wide. I suppose you could mount it up on the wheel wells, I'm sure your passengers would love having their heads ABOVE the roll bar. You could call it "stadium seating".

no, same width, but the wheelwells are formed differently, CJ, YJ are boxy, while the TJ are more sloped.

Actually, they're notched to accomidate the wider seat. You could cut out a section of your CJ/YJ rear fender and invert it then weld it back in...but why? Besides, you'd need wider axles to do it.

As to the seats on top of the fender...ever looked at the Brazilian and Mexican CJs? Thet offered on fender seating options and you didn't have to worry about being above the rollbar as it was non-existant!

Re: has anyone put a TJ rear seat in a CJ/YJ yet?

Who'd want a seat in a CJ anyways, especially a CJ-5. I got a CJ-5 and with a rear seat there isn't any room to care anything. Thats why its my resting seat in the shop. During the summer my TJ doesn't have a seat in it, it sits in my room for extra seating for people. They have there purposes. My .02.
