O/T - pics of inside of tranny or tcase

Ok, this is really kinda crazy, but I was just wondering if anyone had some pics of the inside of a tranny or t-case. I have always wanted to kinda take a look at what's inside (those cartoon pictures on howstuffworks.com don't help me), but my dad would honestly kill me if he caught me tearing my Jeep apart. So, if any of you, for whatever strange reason, have pics of the inside of a tranny or t-case, would you mind telling me where they are or posting them? Thanks for listening to my strange request.

How about just getting a Factory Service Manual?

Do I just go to a Jeep dealership and request one? Any idea how much they cost, if anything?

I have assembly drawings of the np231 and np242 I could fax, or maybe scan and e-mail. If you're not familiar with prints it might not be very helpful. Let me know if you still want them. I also have prints of the mainshafts of both t-cases.

Yeah, if it's not too much trouble I'd be happy for you to send them. I can't receive faxes here, but you could always send them via email. Thanks. I appreciate it.

I get my manuals off Ebay for usually between $20 and $50, but never more than $50. The dealership will want close to $100 for them.

here is another, BTW see the "S" shaped tube on top of the valve body?

that is the tube that goes to the lockup module, and its also the place you can rig up an elec valve to disable the lockup from in teh truck...

Re: O/T - pics of inside of tranny or tcase

last one, this the input shaft ( goes inside the torque converter) the smooth portion on the end is what makes it a Lockup converter, also notice the hole in teh end, it goes all the way thru, its what feeds fluid to the clutch to LOCK the converter up.

on non lock ups, the splines are the last thing on the shaft ( no smooth part) and the littel hole is only a dimple.
