Is anyone running the 34 9.50 swampers? I was thinking about going with that size but was wondering the pros and cons of them. Are they a little skinny for mud wheeling or not really. My biggest concern it the width.

my buddy just got a set. Great in mud, he tore a sidewall in a pretty tame situation though. They stuff nicely too.

They look all goofy though.

I've got the 33/9.5's and it sorta makes your Jeep look like a Sami.
Also, people don't wave because from the front it looks stock, because the tires don't stick out at All.

They'd be the perfect tire for your '69, I know a lot of people running them. I am running the 32x9.5's on the Zuk, and they dig like mad. Run them on a narrow rim to avoid blowing a bead, 6" is OK, but 7" is too wide. I'm running mine on Zuki 5.5" wide rims (which have the same jeep bolt pattern) and I cut out the front center section and set the backspacing to 2" so I can clear the springs. The Zuk rims won't fit the disc brakes on a Jeep though.

Ive got the 32-9.50`s on an 8" wheel and no problem here. Ive never had the bead come off and I normaly run them at 5 or 6 lbs.

They work great in mud as long as there is a bottom within reach. They (and a couple other sizes) have the deepest lugs offered on Swampers. They are the choice of many mud drag racers, but they can look a little funny. We call them pizza cutters.[img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

I was kind of worried on how they would look but if the wheel good then its good enough for me. My 11.50's stick out about 3 inches, will the 9.50's stick out at all?

It depends on your wheel spacing... maybe an inch Im guessing

would they be less safe than a 12.5 wide tire? I know wider is better but how much better?
