Help me Find tires!
Hey Gang!

I'm looking for a new set of tires for my TJ. Something in a 31x15.5 would be perfect! I'm interested in off-road all season types, not full on mud tires, but more aggressive than say, a Wrangler RT/S.

Any reccomendations? Tread wear/on and off road perf./price?

Re: Help me Find tires!
Well I would suggest maybe a BFG AT but it may be a little hard to find in 15.5" tire?????? the 31x11.5x15 will run about $120.00 to $130.00 depending where you get it.

Woops!! sorry.

The original post was supposed to say a 31x10.5 inch tire!!

Sorry about the confusion! Now, with the correct size, any reccomendations?

BFG? Michlen? Goodyear? Yokohama (specifically the geolander plus II)?

You are currently running GY RT/S. Try the GY GS/A. They came with the 30" wheel and tire package from the factory. I've wheeled a fair bit with them, they are decent. Good on-road ride as well. They can be pricey though.

Rob, are you serious? The GS/A's and junk, pure and simple. We ditched ours at 15K and they were well over 1/2 worn. Go with the BFG's, I've had good luck with them for almost 80K, I won't run anything else on a daily driver.

I'm with Jeepin.
BFG A/Ts are pretty darn good all around tires.
They do really well on our local slick rock and are nice and quiet on the street.
Just yesterday I was talking to a guy from Ohio who was checking out my Jeep and he said that the BFG A/Ts were great on snow and lots of folks use them where he is from. It seems they stay on top of the snow where as knobbies break through and make ruts. They air them down just like the do in the artic to make a bigger foot print.
But, I suppose they wouldn't be so hot in mud ...
