I don't know if this could be a cause but a couple things to consider. The rubber hoses will get old and give more, ie when the you press the brakes the hoses expand causing less pressure. Also I would check for leaky wheel cylinders at the drum brakes. Just my little bit of info,
David

Two words - vacuum leak. Your 87 I'm sure has power brakes and the booster works on engine vacuum. Lots of hose there to leak and they get brittle over time. Not too bad to fix but if the booster itself lost it's seal (not normaly the problem but it can get to that) then you have too spend some $$. Not a fortune but it can still smart. Of course no brakes hurts more.

This of course is one posibility but, you did mention all the other parts you checked and I think you've got it narrowed down pretty good. Hoses are cheap too. Probably worth replacing anyway and you'll solve more than one problem at a time. Vacuum leaks are notorius for poor engine performance as well.

Re: Brakes Feel Weird

Are your brakes getting oil on them? That will do it. Otherwise its the booster.

OK I think josiah just clicked it together. I just replaced my axle seals while checking the brakes, and have not drove it since then. So yea I bet oil was getting on them. I have aslo checked my vacuum and it is fine as well. I have not drove it yet since the carb is in getting rebuilt. Damn carter bbd, the shop I took it to said three days and tomorrow will be the third so I will see then. He also gave me a garantee that my jeep will idle and get better gas milage. I can only wish.... Thanks guy I will reply on how I made out tomorrow.
