I should have performed more maintenance

I woke up this morning, and had a nice sentimental card by my bed, and Jeepchick was singing a cheerfull version of Happy Birthday.
Damn, I was quickly reminded that I turn 42 years old today.
If I had known I was gonna be around this long, I would have taken much better care of all my parts. Instead I've treated my body much like my Jeep, and Ive been driving it like I stole it most of the time. Oh well at least all of the factory options still work, and although Im a little tempermental at times, Im still pretty reliable.
One good thing though, Jeepchick says she almost has to keep me, because she'd be lucky to get low "blue book" on a trade in.

So, you have lots of "character marks", and in the morning when you first crank up you have that "gassey smell" comming from the exhaust.

Happy Birthday Jeff!

Just remember, at 42, you are FULLY GETTING IT AWN more than most people half your age could manage. I think it's one of those "higher functioning" things we mentioned a while back.

Re: I should have performed more maintenance

I shouldn't have razzed you about your book value on my previous message! As I type, I'm at work awaiting my physical, which is in 20 minutes (10am central) given on or near your birthday! I know last year I would have had a hard time getting wholesale on my wifes trade.. this year!! Buy here/pay here... my wife will finance!!

Hahaha. That was good for a early morning laugh. I thought you meant, you needed to work on your jeep more, and I said naw that can't be. Happy BD.

Re: I should have performed more maintenance

Happy Birthday! I hear ya on the maintenance issue, what we need is some bolt on replacement parts for Jeepers. I could personally use a new set of knees and a left shoulder. My "mechanic" has done what he can, but they are pretty much shot. Anybody partin' out a good, low mileage human? I would prefer white and about 6', but I can always add a lift and paint to match.

BTW, things got kinda hectic last year and my wife forgot my B'day. I told her it was the nicest thing she could have done for me.

My other car is a bulldozer!

Re: I should have performed more maintenance

Hahaha, thanks guys, At least Im not pissin rust yet.
I really cant complain, I havent missed a day of work in over 10 years, I cant remember the last time Ive been sick (hangovers excluded). I cant remember the last time I went to a doctor, I think it was for stitches I received playing softball about 15 years ago.
I have my 1st physical, that I can remember since the Navy(1981), scheduled for this Friday. I hope it doesnt screw up my good run of health, but Jeepchick has been nagging me to go.
