Winter\'s here already!
Just got back from jeeping. Only problem is that there is already snow in the mountains. Ended up driving around in the woods in a foot of snow, got stuck in a few 3-4 foot drifts and never even made it to the end of the trail. It really is time to put the top back on though, 30 degree weather, no heater and a bikini top arent a good mix.

Re: Winter\'s here already!

Last Week, we had snow also. Even in town on Thursday. Warm weather has gotten red of most of it although MTN biking on sunday evening we got into some of it. Snow has its advantages!

yeah man, I cannot wait for snow. The first year I have my Jeep, and I hope to have the lift and all completed by then. Fun for hours :)

Re: Winter\'s here already!
We started at about 8,000 ft and there was about 4in. or so, then we went into the trees and drove to about 10,000 ft in 12+ inches. Ended up hiking to about 11,800 ft since the snow on the road was just a very long drift 5+ ft deep. Only snowed once this year too. Since most of the trails are above 7,000 ft its about the end of my jeeping season.

Re: Winter\'s here already!
Had our club meeting up in Conifer on Saturday, the plan was to run up Red Cone and down Webster afterwards; I jumped in the CJ and took off in a light drizzle, by Conifer I was in four inches of snow and freezing my nads off! Ended up running through slaughterhouse gulch, where many of the scrub oak trees were weighed down with snow across the trail. Everyone got a kick watching me with my bikini top and half doors driving through the snow tunnels just getting drenched (I was the only one there without a top); decided it was time for the hardtop to go back on. Then went up Carnage Canyon Sunday in eighty degree weather. Gotta love those Colorado weather patterns.
