Re: Inspiration for a locker

Sweet flatty.
Its definitely a lot easier to climb when all the tires are participating.
Looks like some inspiration for a roll cage is in order also.
Sure looks like fun, I wrenched all weekend,.. but at least I got a lot done.

Mel, I've never visited your website, but I just did and it is a bookmark now. Good job, lots of good stuff.

Re: Inspiration for a locker

Kinda makes you wonder how the "legend" ever began....with open diffs, tiny motors, and skinny directional tires? I for one am glad it did take off.

Re: Inspiration for a locker

Yup, a rollcage is a definite desire - it's on the list. Ya think a front hoop for a CJ5 would work, or do I need to get it custom fabbed? I probably have more chance of that happening before I get power steering. The plus is that manual steering makes for a good workout, I was wiped out after driving it all day.

Brad, thanks for the compliment. I hope to have a nice writeup on there of my '85 CJ7 SOA/44/rockcrawler buildup with pictures once it is finally back on the road.

Re: Inspiration for a locker

I'd have to say thats the most infuriating thing.
It's worse then just having all 4 spinning.

2 spin, 2 no spin makes me cringe. Its just bad because you know you can't do anything about it.
