Steering Stablizer Help
I replaced the tie rod and connecting rod ends this weekend on my 85 CJ-7. When I took the steering stablizer off it shot out like a loose shock would. So I took it to the auto parts store only to find out it was a rear shock for a Nissian pickup!!! That explains the horrible over-steer to the right that was giving me fits and gives me even more proof the guy I bought it off of was a complete idiot! The problem is, my jeep is set up to have a stablizer with two different ends on it. (one threaded, one round to slip over a stud) The auto parts store told me that both ends should be threaded but I have a plate between the axle and leaf spring with a stud sticking straight up to except a round end. What gives? I called another place and he said he has seen a stablizer with two different ends before but rarely. Does anyone know where or if I can find a stablizer like this and why my jeep is set up that way.
