Tj tcase linkage problems

Hey guys,

My buddy has a 98 Tj Sport, 4" procomp, and 1 inch body lift. The tcase keeps popping out of 4wd low. He has adjusted the linkage as much as possible but doesn't know what to do next.. I think its hitting the tub or something. Anybody else have this problem? THanks?

Re: Tj tcase linkage problems

Sounds like he is either too far away from the T-case now becasue of the body lift, or his shifter may be moving far enough to get into low but hitting the tub and not fully engaging. I would take off the console and take a look. If its hitting, maybe he can trim a bit so it will fully engage, or if the linkage is too short because of the lift, maybe he can make a piece that is longer? These are just shots in the dark,,,,, hopefully gives him some place to start... good luck and please let us know how he finally fixes it so we will have the info if we ever need it. Aftr did the lift on my TJ, I couldn't get it to even go into 4wd, the shifter wouldn't move, before I had a chance to really look into it, I apparently went down my bumpy road enough times which apparently jarred it loose, it must have been in a temporary bind, its worked great ever since.
