F-Head oil pump
Does anyone know of any problems with the Federal Mogul oil pumps for F-Head motors. The pump is designed differently with 2 gears vs. stock impeller type? Iíve just started the new motor and I don't have any oil pressure. The 2 plug are installed inside the block, 2 end plugs and the timing gear nozzle. I removed the oil filter and with the motor running I only get little sperts of oil. I'm hoping that the design change of the pump may be the problem or just a bad pump.

Re: F-Head oil pump
First of all, the oil filter in an F-head is the bypass type and it only filters some of the oil. I'm not sure how much flow you are supposed to see. Also, there are some differant lenght bolts you are supposed to use for the federal mogul pump. Second, a better resource for F-heads is WillysTech
There is also good stuff at The CJ3b page
I hope this helps...

Did you prime the pump?
