Jeep Thoughts, by Jack Handy..

I was driving my TJ home tonight from my girlfriends house, she lives out in the sticks. There wasn't another car on the road, just me, my Jeep, and the deer. I turned off the CD player and found the old familiar sound of mud tires rolling along on smooth blacktop. I reached over and turned the dash lights down as far as they would go. Peering out through that rectangular windshield and seeing the shape of the hood with the sound of the wind playing in tune with the hum of the tires, I realized something. My new TJ could have been almost any Jeep i've ever owned. It could have been my 89 Wrangler I had in high school, or my 84 CJ-7 I had just last year. It even brought back memories of my dads 47 CJ-2a he had when I was a child. No matter what anyone says, even if the owner doesn't realize it, Wranglers have a long and great heratage that they live up to constantly... I hope you all have liked my short story and have made you think back to when your sickness started... Thanks and keep all the good info and stories comming.

Re: Jeep Thoughts, by Jack Handy..

Alot of people see a TJ as a "new car", but to be in tune with it enough to realise it really is the evoloution of YJ, CJ, & Flattie, you are a true Jeeper. Great story!

Truism. Great story!

Who needs a road...if there's a perfectly good JEEP trail somewhere else!?

I know what you mean. Take the top and doors off and kick back. It is just one of those feelings, and only in a JEEP.

Re: Jeep Thoughts, by Jack Handy..

you guys suck!!!!!!!!
I was seriously sold on buying a cheap cherokee instead of this dissasembled cj that I want.I was scared I would get in over my head money wise..
A 4 cylinder in the cherokee or rebuild the v8 in the cj.
I've gotta get a cj again!

Its four wheel drive and naked women what more do you want?

Joet don't even think about the Cherokee your already hooked on doorless Jeeps no matter what you'll always return to this kind of Jeep.

Take care of the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves.

Re: Jeep Thoughts, by Jack Handy..

I sold my last CJ to get out of debt from school. Six years latter I got into my friends 86' CJ with the top off, the evening air was warm, the stars were out, and that old feeling came back, (it was probly always there I just kept justifying other expenses).
One month later I bought a bone stock 85' CJ and the love affair has only started.

85'CJ, stock for now! It's a Jeep thing ...my wife doesn't understand.
