Sheet Metal + Fiberglass seam filler?

I made a tool box for the back of my fiberglass CJ5 tub out of a piece of sheet metal. Now I want to paint the interior with some Hammerite Grey/silver paint. But one of the corners where the sheet metal and the fiberglass meet wasn't perfect, so I filled it with silicone (needed to be water tight). So now that I'm thinking of painting it, I want to clean up the seam. Any suggestions?

I would prefer to go with some kind of puddy. But I would also like to stay away from fiberglassing it in. It doesn't have to be seamless..... but I want it to look decent.

Bondo. The fiberglass Bondo is really tough and easy to use once you get the hang of it.
