cj body question..

I am thinking of putting a 80's CJ7 tub on my '76. I have seen body mount kits listed for 76-79 and 80-86. what is the difference?
should i use the '76-79 kit to match my frame or the kit to match the body? thanks for your help, wade

Re: cj body question..

If you look at the Daystar 1" body lift mounts they show all CJ7 (76-86) are the same. I don't know the difference, but I am putting a 79 tub on an 83 frame and I am just going to use the Daystar kit. Another guy I know uses 1 hocky puck top & bottom by drilling a hole through the center.

Re: cj body question..

The frame is what`s different . LATE run 79`s and up had slightly larger bushing holes on the frame . 76-early 79 had 1-1/8 " except for the mount by the firewall , it was about a 1 " hole . I went through the same thing when buying mine , buy the kit that matches your frame .
