thanks a million for the pic and for all the help. I still cant get the material to bend in the first step of the process though. It just keeps slipping down the clamp. I am going to try it again when i get my gas welder/torch set up. Hopefully a little heat will help. - Tim

Tim-
I don't know much about flairing but I do about softening (annealing) steel.
Heat it to red and allow it to cool as slowly as possable ... diping the hot end in sand will slow the cooling down....
If you decide to use heat, as least do it right ... [img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif[/img]
