York Compressor!!!

I scored a york and a Motorcraft 2100 off the same truck today!! I have been searching the past posts and there are so many I can't find references on what I am looking for. I need to know mounting on 258. There aren't many 258 in yards around here so I will have to mail order parts. What do I need? Any other advice to maintenance or setup would be greatly appreciated.

Re: York Compressor!!!

Re: York Compressor!!!

I think I recall that 210 is the 10.3 Cubic INch pump ( the largest of the 3)

SCORE!

if it has a good clutch and the correct pulley your mostly there!

its hard to find hte brackets for a 258 though

Ive got MOST, but not the alt bracket ( which of course is required)

Re: York Compressor!!!

I found a york and all the brackets in a local yard here in Tennessee for $35, they were in an AMC Hornet I believe, I got the bracket that mounts the York, the alternator relocation bracket, and the idler pulley bracket that mounts on the other side of the engine above the power steering pump. I even got the belts off of the donor vehicle and am using 1 of them as it was in good condition, the other one I was able to take to the parts store and use for size reference. I even scored the alternator from the AMC as it was still attached to the bracket.
Try this link for some picts. of a 258 with all the same brackets.---http://www.nacs.net/~djperk/Jeep/tech/oba.html

Re: York Compressor!!!

Yep, check out AMCs. I got mine out of a Concord. The bracket and York only cost me $50. Then I used a clutch out of a Volvo and have to custom fit the belt. Just keep looking.
