Clutch rod won\'t last

OK, I have an 85 CJ7, 258, T5, pretty much entire drivetrain is OE. I replace the clutch rod every 6 months because it wears out. This rod pushes the clutch plate back to disengage the clutch. Is there an easy fix to avoid the constant replacement?

Ready to roll at a moments notice.

it wears out???? whats wrong with your linkage? do you have any crazy angles in it.. are you over tightening it? never heard of the short rod wearing out..
but several places sell the heim joint version if you cant come up with something on your own.. T & J's wheel drive center also sells this setup.. i have a prototype in my jeep.. had it about 6 years now.. still works great.. and my linkage is at some goofy angles now.. due to body damage..

Re: Clutch rod won\'t last

Something is VERY wrong. I've replaced 2 in 16 years.
