anyone familiar with Cam Dynamics?

A friend gave me a used cam dynamics cam for an AMC 360. I think it is a 240 H, anyone used one. I compared it to a stock one and can see no difference. It also has some light surface rust. Is it junk?

It will never be finished unless it burns up in the woods.

Re: anyone familiar with Cam Dynamics?

Unless it is a HUGE race cam, you probably wouldn't "See" a difference. If it is a RV type cam (low end power) it probably isn't much different than a stock cam in lift. Duration and centerline will be different though, and that is a hard one to measure without it being in a motor or having a "cam gauge" to check for those dimensions. Not sure about the rust question, I've avoided that problem by keeping my cams greased when they are out of engines.
