He will need the wrangler 4.0 computer, engine compartment wiring harness,Power Distribution box, motor mounts, and I believe the bellhousing. Don't believe the 4 cyl and 6 mate the same.

Re: HELP! 4.0L swap Questions

The 4.0 will not bolt to the 2.5l's AX-5. You will need to pick up an AX-15 tranny and bellhousing, 23 spline input gear for your 231 t-case. You will have to weld in new engine purches to mount it, and find a pcm and wiring harness for a '92-'95 YJ, XJ, or ZJ with a stick. The '98's JTEC controller and harness will work, but you will not have an functional check engine light. The sensors are also different on the newer '98's, however they will swap over to the newer throttle plates. You also will have problems with the 50lb/. returnless fuel rail set up.

With all of this fuss, you could easily put in a Chevy. I like the idea of a 5.2/5.9 NV-4500 package using a '95 Ram's harness and wiring. This is the same SBEC controller that the MPFI kit is based on, but with 2 more cylinders.
