How much for a rebuild $

I am wondering how much should I expect to pay to get an engine rebuilt. It is a 4.0L that needs some new life. The only thing is, I don't really have anything to go on. What is a fair price?

91 YJ swaped in 4.0L 2 inch lift. (work in progress)

Somewhere in the vicinity of $1,100.00. Plus or minus. That will get you a top to bottom rebuild of the relatively mild variety. IOW, no super-performance items. That is also assuming you do the pull and reinstall yourself.

Re: How much for a rebuild $

Acme Jeep parts has 4.0s for $1595.00 to $1795.00 with a 3 year 60.000 mile warranty and the price includes shipping and return shipping of the core.
