Could someone please tell me how to determine the backspacing of my rims? My YJ came with no spare tire and I need to get a rim to match the others. My tires are 31x10.50.
Re: Backspacing ??
This works best with the tire off the rim, but it can be done with the tire on the rim. The backspacing is the distance from the back edge of the rim to the back face of the center of the rim (where it bolts to the hub). With the tire off, put a straight edge across the back of the rim, and measure to the bolting surface. If you do it with the tire on, you just have to be sure that you don't include the tire in your measurement. A tire store could probably also tell you what the backspacing is.
