YJ Dana 30 Disconnect Axle

Has anyone converted the disconnect YJ front axle to a one piece passenger side axle. I think the newer axles will fit but what about the seal.

The seal shouldn't be an issue. The shaft goes right through it either way.

I saw an article about this but can't remember who is making the shafts. A seal surface needs to be machined into the shaft for the seal between the end of the housing and the shift housing. The axles without the disconnect don't have a seal surface there, just at the differential.

I believe that WILL may be talking about Warn's Locking Hub conversion that uses a one piece axle. I'm sure there is an article on it somewhere on off-road.com or else try the JP web site.
