Guy with the semi-trailer horn.

Is that thing (the horn) 12 volt, or 24?
and how did you set it up, bolt in, or was it compliacted?

Make us all a write up/tutorial?

Do you think insurance will cover the carb if it some how "teleports" behind the tires of a 350 with dualies?

Ditto. Would love to see how you set it all up.

Re: Guy with the semi-trailer horn.

I have a buddy that has one from a semi hooked up to an air tank via a ball valve running off of a airpump from a car.(long sentence eh!!) The air pump is from a caddy or somthing that has the air ride suspension..Works pretty good but it sure does suck the air out in a hurry...OBA from a york ought to run the snot out of it...

It's as close to a 1ton as it can get and still be a jeep!!! Gotta love it!!

Re: Guy with the semi-trailer horn.

its very difficult to achieve the decibals that an airhorn can obtain, at least vs. an electric device.

a balless black powder charge gets attention also.

Re: Guy with the semi-trailer horn.

If you have a compressor and tank, then its a piece of cake to install. I already have a York compressor and a 6 gallon tank, so it took about an hour to hook it up.
I used a Grover 138db air horn that I bought from a Kenworth dealer, for about $70. I used a 12v, air solonoid from Graingers (about $15), and wired it to a button on the dash.
They are loud, and deffinitely gets everyones attention.
