I am need of new wheels for an '85 CJ-7, with 33"x12.5" tires. My question is, should I get 15x8 or 15x10, and do I want aluminum?

Re: wheels

I have 12.5 wide tires on 10" rims, although it seems like I'm the only one on this board as I've heard of alot of people using 8" rims. Either will work. 8" will give you more of a bulging sidewall. I like steel rims for offroading, but this is only a personal opinion.

Re: wheels

I would definitely go 8" and stick with steel. I'll try to remember to post some pics of my dented up 8" steel rims I have my 33" Swampers mounted on, and I do just general trail riding, little rock. The steel can be bent back where the aluminum will just break.

Re: wheels

The 8" rim will retain a bead better at low pressure.
