Help! broken drivetrain
I have blown two u-joints from this. Also the rear shaft cover on my transfercase has broken twice. When go 40 mph and let off the gas, my jeep would vibrate. But when I give it gas at higher speeds it smoothes out.

What the heck could cause this. After the first time I thought it was the u joint but now i know it isn't.

The yoke and shaft are fine. There is no visible damage on either and the shaft dosen't have play in it. I have jacked up the rear and tested the rear. It spins fine with no problems.

I have to drive to school tommorow.

It's a 95 with a NP231.

Is it lifted? If so, how much? Are the operating angles the same? Have you jacked up the frame and let the axle droop some to see if the driveshaft is binding?

Re: Help! broken drivetrain
No lift. Hasn't been off pavement in a while due to it's problems.

I talked to a transmission guy and he thought it was a bent shaft in the case. Pulled it off and sure enough it was. As I type, the t-case shop is adapting the new one for my jeep. 250 bucks for a used one.

Thanks for the help.
