Which gears for my Scrambler??

My Scrambler has a 258 with 727 auto-tranny and D300 Tcase. I am going to run 35" tires what gears would you recommend? I would think 4.10s or maybe 4.56s. I may switch to a 360 someday but not anytime soon so gearing is crucial with the 258. The Jeep will be run on streets and trails. I would like to be able to run at 70mph but still be able to crawl. My 258 has a Weber38 and the TR upgrade.

My axles are G.wag front D44 and G.wag Model 20 rear.

Re: Which gears for my Scrambler??

I run a 258 with a motorcraft 2100 in my scrambler, 33's and stock gearing. I am most likely going to 4.10s next spring or so.

Re: Which gears for my Scrambler??

We have several people runnung each of those gears but it is always good if someone near you has a similar setup for you to test drive. 4.10's should be fine but everyone has an opinion on this one. Try this http://www.jeep-shop.com/jeep_info_gear_ratio_guide.htm it will give you a heads up!
