\"CJDave\'s Big Compooter\" copy files to disk lesson

Dave, welcome to lesson number two: How to get the darn files on a floppy?

So you've got the files on your desktop and you want them on a 3.5" floppy?

1) Stick empty formatted floppy in drive (the easy bit).
2) RIGHT click one of the files, and from the menu that pops up select "Send To" then "3 1/2 Floppy" and away it goes...
3) Repeat for the remaining three files.

Stay tuned for more lessons. Soon on this board!

Hmmmmmm........can you be a little more specific? By the way......I have made GOOD USE of the technical manuals that you sent to me! That was a great addition to my "mechanical" library. Thanks again for sendin' them.

It's a linux thing. I am kinda anti-Microsoft. Linux works, dosn't crash, is pretty much virus proof, and best of all free! To use it, you need to brush up on your unix commands. There are some good books and support out there, but it will take some effort. I like Redhat and KDE.

Good to know you liked the manuals. I am in the process of doing something similar to your move to Iowa. Colorado Springs is getting too big, and the gay agenda and liberalism is starting to overwelm me. We bought 40 acres high in the mountains outside Salida Co. Our closest neighbor is 12 miles away. Way cool views, and one of the best elk areas in the state.

Re: \"CJDave\'s Big Compooter\" copy files to disk lesson

Dave, was this "being a bit more specific" ment for me or Dorfs?

Dorfs, I run Linux as well, but only as a firewall. At work however, I mainly work with Linux. I am still running Win '98 at home, but only because I need to get a decent modem as my current one is a winmodem which as you probably know doesn't work under Linux. Might switch to ADSL anyway, so hopefully I can get that to work under Linux...

Btw, why cd into /mnt first? just do: #mount /mnt/floppy
