Summer Blast @ Paragon in PA.

Anyone been to or going to this event? I'm thinking of going but know nothing about it. The site for info is not all that incredibly informative. How are the local camping facilities? Etc, etc. I'm in ohio and would be interested in hooking up with someone for the trip over. I'd estimate about a 6 1/2hr drive from where I am(60mi south of Cleveland).

Re: Summer Blast @ Paragon in PA.

I went to the Rosser roundup last year there. They have good camping in the area with water and electrical hookups, so you can run your welder at night to fix the crap you broke during the day. Depending on the trails you go on, there are some easy ones and there are some pretty hard ones. I'm heading up there on the 25th and 26th for the Midatlantic trail ride.

Re: Summer Blast @ Paragon in PA.

Thanks for the input. I'm thinking I'm gonna go despite the distance. I may end up going solo since the jeepchick can't get off from work so that pretty much sucks. Speaking of Paragon, anyone know what happened to their website? It seems to be MIA.

Re: Summer Blast @ Paragon in PA.

I don't know much about the place. It's going to be my first time there. However, I went to the Big Dogs April Ice Breaker run in Winchester, VA and it was a blast. Check out the pictures on my website. They put on a good show no matter where it is. Let me know where you are and we could hook up. I'm running 4,6,5 in that order (breakage notwithstanding).

Re: Summer Blast @ Paragon in PA.

4,6, &5? Are those trail numbers or RATINGS? I'm going to go ahead and sign up tomorrow and try to get the camping details worked out. You driving up or trailering? I agonize over that dang near every trip. I don't mind driving if it's fairly close but I don't know if I want to have to depend on it to get me home if I'm 400 miles from home.

Re: Summer Blast @ Paragon in PA.

The nubers are trail numbers and ratings in one. They go from 1-10 and there are some duplicates marked 6b or 7b and such. I did trail 5 twice in the spring in Winchester and it wasn't bad. We only had one rollover, a torn exhaust, a leaking gas tank, bent bumper and a dead "winch bitch". If I can make it in time I'm driving from VA wich is a 3hr trip for me. If I could I'd trailer but my Civic can't even pull the empty trailer. I got some vibrations and rubbing to figure out before I take on the long trip so we'll see. Other than that I'm good to go.

Re: Summer Blast @ Paragon in PA.

I just talked to the Red Ridge Lake camp ground. They provide the camping space. There are directions on the Big Dogs site under "Summer Slam". I'm heading up there Thu. afternoon and it's $66 for 3 nights w/electric (gotta bring welder ) and water (???).
