anyone have any experience with spools? rider racing now has one for the model 20. I also have one piece axles. what about gear instalation? i was told that if you give yourself about a day per end that you can set up your own gears with some patience.

Re: spool

some patience, skill and a lot of luck!!!. I'm getting ready to run a spool in my rear 44.

for the 20, I would just worru about the tubes or housing. the axle shafts and gears are strong, I'd just worry about the housing

Everyone has to believe in something, I believe I'll have more lift.

Re: spool

I have a spool in my rear 44, and it wirks great. The only major issue I have found so far is that the binding is helping my lug nuts to occasionally come loose (twice in 3 months). Other than that, setup was easy (I used a mini spool though), so I didnt have as much to worry about as far as pinion depth and back lash (even though I checked them). On the road, its only noticable on slow sharp turns. I kinda deal with it because its a Jeep, not a cadillac!
Other than that, its been really good off road too!
