Wimpy Horn!

After realising that my engine in Idle is louder then my damn horn, I figured I should get a bigger one.
I can just rip one out of any ole car that has a horn right?

Whats the biggest most bad ass horn I can get without having to mod anything? Which cars/trucks is it found in?

I saw someone had a nice horn mounted to their hood in one of the pics somewhere.

Do you think insurance will cover the carb if it some how "teleports" behind the tires of a 350 with dualies?

Re: Wimpy Horn!

I keep drowing my horns crossing the Platte River. Getting tired of changing them.

Re: Wimpy Horn!

Thats the one I was talking about.

How hard was the install/mods on that one?

Re: Wimpy Horn!

Modifications..hmmm
Well you gotta have some serious air. They sound best at 90 psi and up. At 120 psi they will roll your face back, like you are in a centrifuge. Then you gotta figure out where they can mount. That was the real hard part for me, as I did not want anyone to see them or at least until after they heard them first. I also had to get an electric solenoid switch. That I had to special order from pep boys. Wolo mfg sells direct, but shipping was an issue. (don't remember why !!)
Then an air line. Really pretty simple once you have air. The horns can be found at any large truck wrecking yard. They don't gotta be pretty, just gotta work.
Good luck, Ricky...seeya...
