Spraying Hammerite from a 1 Gallon can????
Who has sprayed Hammerite in bulk? What kind of sprayer did you use. I was thinking of using an airless paint sprayer, like the ones painters use on houses. There are numerous tip sizes available. I was just wondering if the dry/cure time is affected by spraying and if any thinning is necessary.
Re: Spraying Hammerite from a 1 Gallon can????
Tom, I used a common paint sprayer to spray hammertite. It's got to be thinned down to the right consistancy, just like any paint. Once I thinned it down it sprayed nicely, no glopping or spitting as I'd expected. The cover was better than with normal paint. I sprayed three coats on the inside of the tub. I wanted to see how well it would hold up on fiberglass. Were I to reccover this area of the tub I'd use a roller or a brush and get it a little thicker. But after a lot of thougth I'm still going to do the outside of the tub with Safety Yellow when I get the time.
