Paint code for Solar Yellow?

Anyone with a Solar Yellow jeep that can give me the paint code?

I'm re-doing my '75 CJ5 and want to spray it Solar Yellow.

Thanks,
Alastair - South Africa

I got one, where do I find the paint code? Inside the drivers door?

Re: Paint code for Solar Yellow?

Go to any shop that mixes paint and ask for Dodge Viper Racing Yellow . It`s a nicer Yellow than Solar and it`s richer and not so thinned out looking . Solar has a lot more white pigment than Viper Yellow .
I have the code for the Viper if you need it ,I just painted my CJ Viper Yellow and it looks so cool

Re: Paint code for Solar Yellow?

I was going to paint my '8' yellow when I first got it, but it seems like every other Jeep I see now is yellow, So I changed my mind, I like the new color for the Impala, its called torch red, its kind of a bright almost flourescent color. But I'm sure I'll change my mind to something else before long

Re: Paint code for Solar Yellow?

When I was first planing for a jeep oh so many years ago, I was going to get it painted yellow, with powder black (not hammered or metalic, but that charcloal'ish texture)highlights. (bumpers, Bars, hinges, and clips.)
BUt now that its the new thing to do, It's not so appealing anymore.
Mine is the stock Sahara colours right now, and I'm gona stick with that theme until I wreck it, roll it, burn it, or otherwise destroy the paint job.
Then I think I will go to White, with powder black highlights. I think that would show off the mud, sand, and assorted body parts better.

<b>Do you think insurance will cover the carb if it some how "teleports" behind the tires of a 350 with dualies?<b>

Re: Paint code for Solar Yellow?

My YJ has been yellow since its birth in '88 and I will be giving it some new paint this winter. I wanted to go with yellow incase I missed a nook or cranny in the engine bay. Was planning on the solar yellow but there are SOOO many yellow jeeps up here it ain't funny. They look good but I hate to add another one. I may end up going with some of the chevy indigo blue?
On the topic of yellow, a friend of mine painted his cruiser Defender 90 yellow, very sharp single stage paint, no worry about scratching the clearcoat to form a white scratch.
here's a pic

and yes, the mud washes off it pretty good

Re: Paint code for Solar Yellow?

Thanks Jeepzilla,

Would appreciate it if you could dig out the code for the Viper yellow. (The paint shops down here in South Africa aren't much good with imported paints unless I have some sort of code)

Re: Paint code for Solar Yellow?

Thanks Gigolo,

Jeepzilla suggested Viper yellow over Solar so I need to decide.

But I'd appreciate it if you could give me code for the Solar in the mean time. (yes I think it is on plate inside drivers or passenger door).
